Blogging Success: 20 Warning Signs Telling You That Your Content Sucks
Admit that you have ever wonderered…
You have been writing severally and have even gotten a few likes but you are not getting any good results or blogging success. The links have become hard to come by while traffic on the other hand is not coming in as you expected and the comments section in your site isn’t just happening.
Then you get these thoughts…..
Maybe you just need patience as you wait for your traffic to pick up..
Or is it possible that you content might really not be all that? Does it suck ( in so doing it breaks one of the rules of a copyblogger) and are people just trying to be nice in order for them not to hurt your already messed up feelings.
The hard truth is that there is no way to tell for sure. Blogging success is sometime mysterious.
What we are talking about here is about the quality is the main thing. One man’s meat is another mans poison and that is how it is.
Scale also matters unlike what happens in America’s got talent where 30 million people vote for you and transform just a mere musician into an international superstar through public consensus.
If you have just begun blogging, you can have less than a 100 readers who regularly read your work and in this group, 20 of them might be your family and friends. And on some real talk, your brother might not like everything you write regardless of how bad it is. That is the point.
So what happens now? Who do you listen to at this point in time?
Actually, everybody and nobody at the same time. The disturbing thing about coming up with some things I that no one helps you to come up with it and yet people’s opinion indeed teach one on something that he did not know before.
There you have it, there are no rules, there are warnings however. If your content is not helpful or knowledgeable, you will get hints or telltale sings that something might actually be wrong.
Using the following signs, you can be able to tell whether you fall in any of the categories. By correcting your content or approach, you should be much more closer from your blogging success!
1. You take so much confidence in your content.
This goes to say that you feel that the content you have posted up is good enough and if you had to rate it on a 1 to 10 scale you would give it a 6 or 7.
But the thing is, you cannot grade the content in your site on a scale. You would be either putting people to sleep or blowing their minds.
When you grade your content at 6 or 7, it will sure get a reaction as a 1 and it would be waste to have them published.
2. Your posts sound like a journal entry.
Not so long ago, a lot of people use to submit their journal entries online as blogs where people got to look at them for a few minutes. Nowadays, however blogs have become more important. They are more like magazines that you can find online which have highly polished content.
3. You are not getting any remarks on your posts.
Getting comments on one’s work is the best way to know how engaged your readers are with your work. If you have no remarks or comments yet you have a lot of subscribers, it simply means that they do not find your content as helpful.
In other words your content sucks.
4. Your visitors spend a very short time on your page.
In order to have blogging success, installing google analytics would help to know the amount of time your visitors spend on your web page.
Staying anything more than two minutes is a good sign while less than that…well, not good. With this you will be able to know that you are not doing so well and therefore need to do something.
5. When you spend less time when writing your posts.
Most people who have had blogging success spend more than 2 hours preparing for a particular blog although it is actually possible for one to come up with a blog within 15 minutes. Not all quickly prepared blogs turn out to be successful therefore you need to check on that.
6. You have never gotten a fan mail.
If your blog content is exceptional, your fans will indicate that by writing to you and telling you about it. This is not just about the usual nice tweets that you get but something more like a five page e-mail where they write about their experiences and how you have helped them.
Of course this comes with time. When you are beginner, you will not get such often but if you are good, you will be fortunate to get some. This should therefore tell you that your content is not as helpful as it should be when you don’t get any.
7. You have never gotten a hate mail.
the opposite also applies. If your content is super, there’s always this group behind the scenes that will take you to be rude, inconsiderate, and wrong about your ideas. This group of people is referred to as they righteous majority and nothing you can do or say will ever appease them.
You should therefore not try as long as you have got things under control. Their screams and mockery should just be an encouraging factor that you are heading the right way.
8. Before getting your first link, you focus should lie on SEO.
I always think that any newbie who starts by enquiring on SEO before they have written any posts is doomed. For starters what is important therefore is posting up links of your site before you begin writing any blogs.
If you are on this track, you should know that for blogging success, links are more important than keywords. This will apply later on.
9. You think SEO is what you need to be involved in for you to create a popular blog.
Just to set the record straight, SEO is as important as any other online marketing tool but it cannot make your blog successful. You need to have remarkable content before you decide to go the optimization way. If your skip this beat, you miss out on a very important aspect of marketing.
10. Saving the best ideas that you have for later.
If you fall in this lot of people who hold back their best ideas for an e-book or a course waiting for the blogs to get popular for them to release their ideas, you should put a stop to this.
You might be sitting in on many opportunities while doing that and this is harmful for you so just have all the good stuff that you have published today.
11. Your blog is everything.
If you decide to write just about everything that you have on your mind in one blog, you will no doubt frustrate your visitors.
Why? People come to your blog to find solutions to certain problems that they may be having and not to find out what you are thinking about today. They will stop reading the moment it becomes all about you and not them.
12. You have no idea of the benefits.
You should ask yourself this question:- How will my readers lives be a year from now after reading my blogs? What measurable results be they specific or not have you helped them achieve.
This is not about your having a sense of great prosperity or fulfillment but it should be on the basis of your clients losing 20 pounds as well as acquiring five good new clients.
If you don’t work with above terms, you are going to fail without a doubt.
13. You are not getting as much traffic as you deserve.
If you feel annoyed that no one is appreciating the knowledge and value that you so freely give, you should ask yourself why.
No one should get attention just as they desire. You should struggle and understand that nothing comes easy.
You have to work for what you want.
14. You have an engineering, science or technology background.
No one means to be disrespectful but the above mentioned and other kinds of technologists have been trained to be passive, objective as well as detached and if you have the three mentioned aspects then you will only see blogging success in other people but not you.
This does not mean that if you have some background knowledge on either of the mentioned displines you are doomed. This only goes to warn you that they can ruin your ways of thinking especially now that you are aiming for great blogging success.
15. You do not have any information on copywriting.
When you decide to begin writing blogs without having a look at copywriting content, it is like looking for a needle in the haystack. Some can get away with it but you will have to be really lucky. Study copywriting if you have not yet done that. It is very important.
16. You don’t know what your readers stay up at night doing.
You should strive to become intimate with your readers and this means that you should get to know what they like reading. Great writing requires you to be very intimate.
Get to know what makes them tick, what scares them as well as what gets them excited. Get to know what goes on in their minds at 2 a.m in the morning. Using this revelation, communicate with them through your blog posts. When you communicate with them at such deep and emotional levels they will not be able to help but be glued to your blogs.
17. You write less daily.
This is probably one of the biggest signs that should get you turning around. If you are writing less than 1000 words every day, it will be very hard for you to come up with anything reasonable for your blog content
Practice writing everyday aiming to get to 1000 and more words for a period of 30 days and you will no doubt see that it will have an impact on your writing.
18. Spending few in a week hours reading.
Other than spending enough time reading, it is important as well to read a lot. It is helpful because it opens one up in terms of different skills in writing. It sharpens you grammar, gives you new ideas and also keeps you updated on what is cur
rently selling in your area of expertise.
19. You have never communicated with any of your readers on phone or in person.
If you just spend an hour talking to one of your vivid readers, you will understand a lot more than you thought you knew. This teaches you on how to communicate well with your readers. This important because it brings you to understand their expectations and as a result you will now be able to deal effectively.
20. You are a new blogger.
You are not badly off; you are a bit safe for the time being because you have not been around for long. There is nothing you can do at this point in time but the above mentioned should now help you have great blogging success.
Keep trying and keep it in mind that people will ignore your blogs for starters but this will soon come to pass.
In Summary.
Producing great content is not as easy as people think. There are no shortcuts in this path and you cannot decide to work your brain like an auto pilot’s engine.
You have to work those hours, reading, writing and researching. Yes, researching as well is equally important.
Coming up with super content is going to need a lot of input. It is not rocket science but likewise it requires a lot of energy, time and dedication.

Thanks for this useful post! This blog is very useful to me and I usually browse around without commenting but wanted to say thanks!
Bloggins seems so easy at first. In fact, people want real, interesting content. Most of the time, there is nothing really new to read and content is not useful.
I will see what your advices could make a change on my results
I think the article reminds us again of the simple things to do to improve a practice. I’ve yet to see a doctor (or personally) receive a patient’s anger for being late or bad things happening around the office. Patients yell at just about anyone and everyone except the doctor. So I agree with the Doc being the calming influence around the office. Also, this brings up the consumer vs. patient debate. I don’t know if they are mutually exclusive, but I don’t like the idea of “consumer” because if the company doesn’t give you what you want, you go somewhere else. Well, I’m sure that my refusal to hand out antibiotics for sinus infections, colds, and earaches may cost me a few patients (maybe ones that I wouldn’t want in my practice anyway or maybe it’s just that I do a poor job of convincing people they don’t need them [usually], thanks standard of care!) 25 years later, I would be interested to see an xray of each of your knees- the normal one and the ACL deficient one. I bet there are significant side to side differences.Activity modification is still a viable option for an ACL tear in the right patient/setting. But 25 years ago, the surgery was different, the technology (implants) were different and most surgeons would have kept you in the hospital 3-5 days (and some even would have put you in a cast up to your hip for 6 weeks after this operation.)
Thanks for the information provided! I was looking for this information for quite some time, but I wasn’t able to see a dependable source.

Very Interesting Information! Thank You For Thi Post!
Great list…producing good content is one thing, but something I noticed is that many new bloggers will produce a really well thought out post, publish it and wonder why they don’t have any comments.
Getting yourself out there and connected to those in your niche within the blogosphere is very important. Commenting on blogs, engaging on fb or twitter, social bookmarking, going to events, joining groups, etc
But as you mentioned- first you have to make sure your content doesn’t suck!
Good post
just like what i earlier thought, ‘in the multitude of words you will find able to uplift you troubled man.’ just a word from this post and i’m in again for an exciting work.
Saved your site. Appreciation for discussing. Surely well worth time clear of my personal tests.
